The Chuck Brown Band, fronted by Chuck’s son Wiley Brown, brings to life the hypnotic, danceable tunes of Go-Go, the genre created by the late Chuck Brown (“the Godfather of Go-Go”). Believed to be the only form of expressive culture to originate in the District of Columbia, Go-Go is deeply rooted in funk, soul and jazz and foreshadowed many of the R&B styles that were born later in history.
